Through the exhibition and related programming, The Green House will explore developments in sustainability and will provide an informative overview of this dynamic design movement.
This exhibition will take a look at some questions home-owners often ask when considering a green home or product, including: What makes a product green?
How is a green home healthier, safer, and more comfortable? and How much does it cost to 'go green?'WCI Designs First Green New American Home WCI Communities, Inc. has designed the first green certified New American Home, which previewed at the 2006 International Builders' Show in Orlando. WCI's design of this year's New American Home received green certification from the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) for its sustainable design. It is also the first time a builder's in-house architectural team was selected to design the New American Home. "We are honored to have been selected to participate in this project," said WCI President and CEO Jerry Starkey.
But how does someone decide to 'go green' and what exactly does that mean? The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Architecture and Design is a ground-breaking exhibition which will examine new developments in green technology and products. The exhibition will explore the building materials, consumer products, and energy systems that offer attractive and often affordable sources of the latest in home building technology and products.
