Lush Green:
To pull the room together, accessories with natural motifs and organic shapes are dotted around. Pieces of stylish ceramic pottery with soft shapes look great against the oak table, while tiles with a dandelion pattern add a natural note to the walls. Candles in the fireplace provide soft light in the evenings while houseplants add a shot of lush green straight from nature.The Docklands Authority selected American Landscape Architect, Martha Schwartz, to design the space. Her design features a striking composition of a red 'carpet' extending from the theatre into and over the dock crossed by a lush green 'carpet' of paving with lawns and vegetation. The red 'carpet' will be made of bright red resin-glass paving covered with red glowing angled light sticks.
Through the exhibition and related programming, The Green House will explore developments in sustainability and will provide an informative overview of this dynamic design movement. This exhibition will take a look at some questions home-owners often ask when considering a green home or product, including: What makes a product green? How is a green home healthier, safer, and more comfortable? and How much does it cost to 'go green?'
