Interior Woodwork: Mural decoration is not necessarily limited to formal Interior woodworks. In early Colonial farmhouses, many murals were used; in these the painting was crude, but it was in harmony with the architecture and decoration. The Interior woodwork walls and woodwork were often lavishly treated with landscapes, farm scenes, and flowers. The journeyman painters who were called upon to paint both houses and fences, portraits and murals, could hardly be expected to exhibit excellence of technique. Many of these compositions, however, had a naive appeal and great decorative charm.Bookings for the dinner will open in February. Entry is open to all Australian-based Interior woodwork designers, Interior woodwork decorators, Interior woodwork architects and other design professionals. Entries are encouraged from individuals, groups, partnerships and those working in larger practices. All projects entered must have been completed between 1 September 2004 and 31 December 2005 and may not have been entered into the 2005 Interior woodwork Design Awards. An Award is given to projects that demonstrate the highest level of achievement within their category in accordance with the judging criteria. |
