Modern Building Is Sympathetic:

The 173,700 SF new construction of the Ric and Dawn Duques Hall links to the renovated Norma Lee and Morton Funger Hall unifying the School of Business into one facility.
The clean, modern building is sympathetic to the older Funger Hall, butThe broad main thoroughfare, running southeast from the square called Terazije, bears the name Marshal Tito Boulevard and is a very lively artery lined with fine shops, office buildings and cafes, these latter being allotted generous sidewalk space in the manner of Paris or Vienna. Among conspicuous modern structures are the Parliament Building, the National Museum (with very rich ancient and modern collections), the big National Theater and exactly one modern skyscraper, the 12-story Albania Building, which serves as a landmark for tourists learning their way about.
It has been a big week for the RRP, because the new Welsh Assembly building also opened for business (though it won't be formally inaugurated by Prince Charles until St David's Day, on 1 March). Originally commissioned in 1988, the Assembly building may have been a long time coming, but it has been worth waiting for. The steel, glass slate and timber structure overlooking the sea, with its transparency and public spaces, looks set to become one of Britain's finest modern monuments.
