Personal Favorite:
For your convenience I may set down some personal ratings of hotels below the luxury grade that are nevertheless excellent or good hostelries—there are so many that selection seems almost like pulling names out of a hat—in the four big cities: BERNE, the Bristol and the Bar; BASEL, Grand Hotel Euler and the Victoria 6- National; ZURICH, Savoy Hotel Baur en Ville and the aforementioned riverside Storchen, my personal favorite, and, of simpler but good grade, the Gotthard, the City, the Butterfly (there's a different name for you!); GENEVA, Hotel de la Paix and Hotel d'Angleterre.I stayed in four different Stockholm hotels before trying the one where now I "always stay." Since this is a personalized guide I see no reason why I should not discuss my personal favorite. It is the Hotel Stockholm, on the sixth and seventh floors of the City Palace in the square called Norrmalmstorg. It is a modern hostelry in the heart of the city and 60 of its 112 rooms are equipped with bathrooms whose plumbing and gadgetry satisfy the most exigent Americans.
Then, of course, there's the not inconsiderable matter of your own personal preferences. Everyone has their own favorite plants. Think about what it is that attracts you most about them. Do you like them to be exotic, dramatic, pretty, colorful, graceful or unusual? Do you want them to provide a peaceful relaxing background or do you want attention grabbers? These are all considerations that will greatly influence your choice of plants.
