Renaissance Style Was Erobably:

He was followed by the great Swiss historian Jakob Burckhardt who, in his brilliant essay, Die Kultur der Renaissance in Italien (The Civilisation of the Renaissance in Italy, 1860), interpreted the period from Dante to Michelangelo in Italy as the age which saw the birth of the modern spirit in a profound transformation of ideas and institutions.
