River Is Black Hawk:
On its southern boundary and bordering Rock River is Black Hawk State Park where the Hauberg Museum displays Indian relics and reproductions of Indian life. Just across Rock River from the park is the site of an ancient Indian village which has been excavated by archaeologists of the University of Illinois.The red-shouldered hawk is most numerous ith of the Great Lakes in winter. It is of ge size and distinguished by the rufous tinge the head, neck, shoulders, and plumage gener-f. Chicago grew rather slowly until Aug. 1830, when the community came legally into e istence with the filing of a plat for 48 blocks as fractional blocks.
