Showcase House Of Design:
Before the 2006 Pasadena Showcase House of Design opened a window into the world of design, special guests got a behind-closed-doors peek into the world of the 30 design teams. On April 21, two days before the official public opening, the welcome mat was laid out exclusively for members of the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts organization and their friends as both a premiere of and a finale to the results of months of hard work.According to the designers, the completed house was a hit with the owners. "We've heard great things from them," said Christine Santana and Jenifer Manning of Santana Interiors, South Pasadena. "They gave their blessing." Hillary Wolfe is a member of our Social Scene team. One of the most inspiring spaces at the Pasadena Showcase House of Design is the Kitchen Pavilion and Grill Garden.
CONCEPT CARS AND TRUCKS California has long been recognized as one of the key trendsetters and style makers for automobile design and car culture. No place else has as much influence on automotive design as does the California lifestyle and its car crazy residents. The progressive and varied makeup of the state also explains why there are 14 major automobile design studios in the Southland along with at least another half-dozen independent design studios. Los Angeles is also home to the Art Center, perhaps the leading institute of automotive design in the world. Therefore, it's fitting that the Los Angeles Auto Show should serve as a showcase to a variety of innovative concept vehicles from throughout the world.
