Working With Color:
Q Select the paint color for the background and paint the walls. Next, choose the color for your top coat. If you are working with color with an oil-based eggshell paint you will need to thin it (3 parts top color to 1 part mineral spirits). Choose a top coat color that is either close in tone or contrasts with your Wall color. With dry-brushing, you can cover the background color completely, so your top coat is the color you will see on your finished walls.At first thought, you might consider the processing of color film to be a profitable field, but it really isn't. The big companies with machinery which does a job at least as good as you can do have cut the price to a point at which it's difficult to compete. Making of color prints, or the production of Flexichrome color prints, however, has more promise. If you are a good color printer, you can expect generous hourly earnings when working with color but might find it difficult to reach enough clients to keep you busy.
Q Aerosol sprays are not ideal for use with stencils. Not only can the fumes be hazardous, but careful masking with newsprint is essential if you do not want to spray the surrounding area. Seepage of paint under the edges of the stencil can also be a problem. Sprays are wonderful, however, for working with color with large areas of flat color and particularly good if you are working with color on fabric.
